Relationship Therapy
Therapy for couples+
Relationship therapy may suit you if you’d like to navigate and nurture relationships that are significant to you.
People who attend relationship therapy may be experiencing things like communication difficulties, feeling as if they’re stuck, navigating change together, wanting to grow their connection and intimacy, exploring attachment dynamics, and understanding how the past may be influencing the present.
What to expect…
For relationship therapy at Luma Room, you will team up with an AHPRA registered psychologist who is trained in both clinical psychology and couples therapy.
We are dedicated to evidence-based practice that is tailored to your relationship. We value a warm, non-judgmental, and curious, approach in collaborating with you to explore and better understand your relationship dynamics and context.
Your values will always be respected so that you are working towards the things that are meaningful to you in sessions. Feedback and open communication are also encouraged so that you and your psychologist can make sure you’re aligned and on track.
This is an LGBTQIA+ friendly space and all cultural backgrounds are welcomed. All relationship structures are welcome.
What to expect in your first session…
In your first session, you and your therapist may spend some time getting to know each other and, if you feel comfortable, you’re invited to share what you have been going through and about your context. You may discuss any goals you might want to work towards and make a plan for moving forwards.
You and your therapist will find an evidence-based therapy that suits you, or draw eclecticaly from different therapeutic approaches. These could include therapies such as:
Attachment-Based Therapy
Cognitive-Behavioural Couple Therapy
Emotion-Focused Therapy
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy
Schema Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Internal Family Systems Therapy
The Gottman Method
A 50 minute session costs $250.
