Renumeration: $120-$150 per client session (60% of total session fee)
About Luma Room
Luma Room is a warm, non-judgemental, and collaborative relationship psychology and wellbeing practice based on Wurundjeri land in Brunswick. We offer informed relationship therapy to couples+ who seek to explore and understand their inner and outer worlds. We value a holistic approach to wellbeing, and aim to provide a safe space for people to nurture their connections. We are dedicated to evidence-based practice, tailored to each unique presentation.
Luma Room is a LGBTQIA+ friendly space and all cultural backgrounds and relationship structures are welcomed.
The practice launched in May 2023 and we are now seeking clinicians to grow our team.
Position Description

The role involves engaging in ongoing relationship therapy with couples+ / individuals. Sessions are typically 50 minutes
You will act as a contractor, with Luma Room operating as a collective of independent clinicians.
In this role, you will have access to regular peer supervision, training opportunities, and will practice from our spacious room in Brunswick.
Balance flexibility and autonomy within the context of a supportive practice. Choose hours that suit you and have agency over your case load.
The position involves:
Assessment:
Assessing relational dynamics, individual, and contextual factors
Rapport building
Developing collaborative formulations
Using psychometric measures as appropriate
Assessing risk
Treatment:
Delivering client-centred, collaborative, evidence-based treatment for individuals and/or couples+ for relationship related challenges
Managing risk where necessary, making appropriate referals, understanding and complying with mandatory reporting
Ability to work in person or via telehealth
Administration and communication:
Maintaining clinical case notes
Communicating with General Practitioners and other parties as necessary
Writing professional assessment reports and support letters as necessary
Responding to client and care team emails in a timely manner
Consulting where necessary
Liaising with practice colleagues regarding matters such as your availability and case load

About You
Dedication to ongoing learning and reflective practice
A warm, non-judgmental, curious, and collaborative therapeutic approach
Ability to work independently and as a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-care practices in place
Dedicated to an evidence-based approach
Clinical experience and training, or willingness to undergo training, in relevant areas of practice
Adherence to the Australian Psychological Society (APS) code of ethics or other relevant code
Completed relevant education for the role
Progressive and inclusive mindset
Bonus but not Essential
Availability to work after hours (e.g., 5pm-9pm) or weekends (higher pay available for these hours)
Knowledge of a number of modalities including IFS, schema therapy, Gottman, emotion focused
Research skills/doctoral level education
