Relationship therapy may suit you if you’d like to navigate and nurture the connections that are significant to you.
People who attend relationship therapy may be experiencing things like communication difficulties, feeling as if they’re stuck, navigating change together, repairing trust, wanting to grow their connection and intimacy, exploring attachment dynamics, and understanding how the past may be influencing the present.
An An Lieu...
COUPLES+ THERAPIST / COUNSELLOR
Hi, I’m An (pronounced like the ‘An’ in Anya)—a therapist who works with individuals and couples+ navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, trauma, grief, and emotional expression. I have a special interest in supporting people through issues around communication, infidelity, intimacy, and identity.
I’m passionate about creating a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can feel truly seen and heard. My approach is collaborative and flexible—tailored to your story, your values, and what matters most to you right now. I bring empathy, humour, and curiosity into the room, and I see therapy as a space where we can gently explore challenges, build resilience, and work toward meaningful change—together.
I welcome people from all walks of life, including those from LGBTQIA+ communities, diverse cultural backgrounds, and all relationship structures. Whether you’re coming to therapy on your own or with a partner or partners, I’ll meet you where you are—with warmth, respect, and care.
I like to draw from therapies including:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
The Gottman Method
My practice is grounded in a client-centred framework, and I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities depending on your needs. I have specific training in couples therapy approaches such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and The Gottman Method, supporting partners to navigate conflict, rebuild trust, and deepen emotional connection. People who see me may be experiencing things like affairs or trust breaks, parenthood, life changes such as grief or workload, and reconnecting with each other (intimacy and sex).
I hold a Master of Counselling from Monash University and a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology with Honours. I’ve also been involved in research through the NTU Social and Affective Neuroscience Lab, contributing to publications on topics such as parenting, relationship quality, criticism, bonding, and sleep.
Outside of sessions, I’m committed to ongoing professional development to ensure I continue offering thoughtful, evidence-informed care. If you’re looking for a therapist who will walk alongside you with gentleness, honesty, and an open mind, I’d love to connect.
