Relationship therapy may suit you if you’d like to navigate and nurture the connections that are significant to you.
People who attend relationship therapy may be experiencing things like communication difficulties, feeling as if they’re stuck, navigating change together, repairing trust, wanting to grow their connection and intimacy, exploring attachment dynamics, and understanding how the past may be influencing the present.
Azul Rosenstein
COUPLES+ THERAPIST / CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Hi, my name is Azul (she/her). I am a clinical psychologist and member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
I work with couples+ who are seeking to strengthen their relationships and/or navigate periods of difficulty. I offer after-hours Telehealth sessions from Monday to Thursday.
My focus is on creating a space where all feel respected, supported, and able to speak openly without fear of judgement. I see therapy as a collaborative, client-centred process and I believe strongly in the importance of tailoring my approach to meet the needs and preferences of clients. My approach draws on different therapeutic models, including Schema Therapy and the Gottman Method. I welcome working with couples+ from diverse backgrounds as well as different relationship structures and relationship goals. I am also able to provide sessions in Spanish.
I like to draw from therapies including:
schema therapy
The gottman method
Cognitive behavioural therapy
Acceptance and commitment therapy
Motivational interviewing
Beyond Luma Room, I work at a major public health network and in private practice. I have experience working with both children and adults in inpatient and outpatient settings as well as schools. I have also conducted research into the impact of polycystic ovary syndrome on individuals' relationships and physical and psychological experience. I have been lucky enough to work with clients of diverse backgrounds, presentations, goals, and relationship structures.
I have a special interest in working with self-esteem issues, loneliness, and social anxiety. Other presentations I have experience working with include depression, trauma, anxiety, panic, adjustment, neurodivergence, and grief and loss.
My approach is grounded in a person-centred framework, creating a safe and understanding space where each person’s perspectives and emotions are recognised. In couples work, I focus not only on the dynamic playing out between the couple but also make space for what each partner brings into the therapy space as an individual.
