Relationship therapy may suit you if you’d like to navigate and nurture the connections that are significant to you.
People who attend relationship therapy may be experiencing things like communication difficulties, feeling as if they’re stuck, navigating change together, repairing trust, wanting to grow their connection and intimacy, exploring attachment dynamics, and understanding how the past may be influencing the present.
Daisy Bottomley...
COUPLES+ THERAPIST / CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Hi, my name is Daisy and I am a Clinical Psychologist. My pronouns are she/her. I work with couples+ who are experiencing difficulties in their relationships and are keen for some support. I offer in person and telehealth appointments on Mondays. I am able to accommodate business and after hours.
My aim is to establish a therapy space where clients feel seen, safe and supported. I believe in the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship as thebasis for making change and value working collaboratively with my clients. I integrate a range of therapeutic modalities in my work, and am passionate about ongoing learning and professional development. In particular, I enjoy using a Schema Therapy framework and believe it is a helpful way to connect past experiences to present functioning. I have recently undertaken further training in The Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, to further enhance my work with couples+
I like to draw from therapies including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Schema Therapy
The Gottman Method
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
Motivational Interviewing
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
As a psychologist, I spIit my time working for a major public health network and in private practice; I enjoy the variety of working in different settings with different client groups, and learning about the diversity of life experiences. I welcome those from the LGBTQIA+ community, those with diverse cultural backgrounds and all relationship structures.
I also have an interest in working with neurodiverse individuals and have supported many on the Autism spectrum and those with ADHD. Other concerns I have experience working with include: anxiety (including persistent worrying), panic, phobias, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, social anxiety, depression, trauma, and drug/alcohol concerns.
I have previously worked and completed placements at Turning Point (drug and alcohol services), Eastern Health (psychology support for medical inpatients and outpatients), Headspace (young people aged 12-25) and Wyndham Clinic Private Hospital (delivering group therapy in a psychiatric setting). I have also enjoyed working as an academic tutor at Melbourne University and have published research in the areas of family violence and women’s health.
