Relationship therapy may suit you if you’d like to navigate and nurture the connections that are significant to you.
People who attend relationship therapy may be experiencing things like communication difficulties, feeling as if they’re stuck, navigating change together, repairing trust, wanting to grow their connection and intimacy, exploring attachment dynamics, and understanding how the past may be influencing the present.
Finn Nugent

Hello, I’m Finn. I am a masters-qualified Social Worker with post-graduate qualifications in Family and Relationship Therapy. Over the last 10 years I have worked with individuals, family groups and couples+ from all walks of life seeking healing, growth and deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and welcome people in all relationship structures.
As a therapist I am person-centred and emotion-focused, informed by family-systems theories, attachment theory, mindfulness, polyvagal theory and the nervous system, trauma-work, Internal Family Systems therapy, intergenerational legacies, decolonising practice, social justice and intersectionality.

Family Systems Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)
Humanistic Therapy
Somatic Therapy
Differentiation-based Couples Therapy
I enjoy working with couples+ at all stages in their relationship and in diverse and non-traditional relationship structures, including those navigating sexual issues, betrayals, grief, polyamory and non-monogamy, problems communicating, family of origin issues, parenting issues and blended families. I am able to work with couples seeking to separate well or to navigate co-parenting after separation.
In my work with individuals, I am non-pathologising and humanistic, drawing on frameworks including EFT for individuals, IFS and ACT. As a Family Therapy trained practitioner, I consider your relationships and your relational context when working with you as an individual. I work with people seeking personal growth and change, on issues including depression and anxiety, stress, identity, sexuality, relationship problems, navigating life-stage changes, finding purpose, grief and loss.
I believe that personal change is a multifaceted process and involves the dynamic interplay of the different dimensions of our selves. I hold an awareness of our physicality and our spirituality and may draw upon breathwork, somatic interventions, visualisation and symbology.
