My practice is rooted in Relational Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, and Attachment Theory, complemented by practical tools from the Gottman Method and Polyvagal and nervous system frameworks. Rather than viewing distress through a purely diagnostic lens, I value a holistic approach where your experiences and relational patterns are understood within the full context of your life, including your physical, mental, and spiritual health, your social world, and broader systemic environments.
People who come to see me may be looking for support around communication, life changes, navigating differences in desire, or navigating the impact of physical or mental health changes on their relationship. People may also be looking to deepen their understanding of attachment dynamics, and how the past may be impacting the present. I see the therapeutic relationship and presence as instrumental to facilitating change, and aim to create a warm and non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable to share the stories that are important to you.
I hold a Master of Counselling from Monash University. I've also completed postgraduate qualifications in support work and psychotherapy, and undertaken training in relationship therapy through Relationships Victoria. My previous clinical work or placements have included working in private practice as a counsellor and disability support worker, providing bereavement counselling through Griefline, and delivering wellbeing support at a primary school.
My lived experience of disability and chronic illness informs my practice, and I have published several autofictional books that explore the interplay between chronic illness, relational dynamics, and identity. Outside of Luma Room, I spend time reading, writing, and hosting a community reading series.
If you are looking for a warm, collaborative space where you can co-author a new chapter of your relationship, I'd love to connect.
